Where My Heart Now Lays
by Jay Catalyst
If I could tell you, darling,
how it felt that day—
to hold you in my arms
and hear you say my name.
It felt like love at first sight,
all over again.
Us just meeting,
when we were just friends.
And it was the beginning
of my end—
of who I used to be,
and who I am now.
I am yours.
I am found.
Now I take my time to love you.
Now nothing compares—no, not to you.
You become the sun,
my moon,
my stars.
Wherever you are,
my heart follows.
Every touch is like a burn,
that’s etched on my skin now.
Every kiss is like a flower
that’s blossomed for me.
She has become the very melody
that I sing now—
the symphony
you hear among the trees
when the wind howls.
This endless love.
This endless love.
You hold my heart now,
and I wouldn’t have chosen a better place
for my heart to lay.
Now, every night,
when you hold me tight—
you say my name like a prayer, baby.
And I love it so much,
it fills me up inside.
Your warmth is what I yearn for now,
you are truly something divine.
Like the wish I made once
when I prayed to the skies.
How can someone so beautiful
have such a kind soul?
Even throughout all the hellish days
you suffered through back then.
God, how I love you.
No one else will do.
Those eyes, that smile, your scent—
now lives ingrained in my mind
in more than one way.
It ripples,
it sways,
to a melody
I’ve yet to learn the notes to play.
